Your Pioneer Camp Retreat

Retreats have the potential of not only being an opportunity to have new experiences and develop relationships, but also be a catalyst for growth. We have a wide variety of programming options to hopefully facilitate a program where your group may experience all of these things.

Our program options aim to encourage team building, skills development, leadership, and fun and memorable experiences. Check out our activity list here! We understand that each group and experience is unique and the Pioneer Camp team will strive to help to make this retreat significant and memorable for your group by helping to create the ideal program for your group.

Day Groups & Maple Tours

Looking for a single day experience?

We offer of a variety of one day programming that can be tailored to the specific objectives of your group. Our winterized facility is available from September to June with excellent programming available for schools, churches, youth groups, community groups and families. We have a wide variety of programming options to facilitate team building, skills development and ensure your group has a fun and challenging time while with us.

Our Maple Grove is open from mid-March until the end of April. You will have opportunity to learn all about collecting sap and boiling it into sweet maple syrup. We’ll even treat you to freshly made maple candy. We are currently taking bookings for half-day tours of our maple syrup operations.

  • A guided tour of our maple bush
  • Demonstrations of the various methods of maple production:
    • First Nations
    • Pioneer
    • Modern
  • Maple toffee on the snow
  • Plenty of sampling
  • Hot chocolate
  • Freshly made pancakes with homemade maple syrup
  • Maple sugar candies for the whole group
  • A visit to our tuck shop (maple products made on-site and Pioneer Camp clothing for sale)
Your group will travel through time to see how the First Nations found maple sap and made maple products and then passed their knowledge onto the early settlers (pioneers) when they arrived. Through many inventions and over many years, making syrup became much easier.

Cost: $8/person- includes program, tour, maple toffee, hot chocolate, pancakes with syrup and maple sugar candies to take home. Groups of 10 or more are preferred.

Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions. Please note that maple syrup season is extremely weather dependent.
